There is a story about the origin of Japanese knives is a Japanese sword.

The knives on the picture are the oldest knives preserved in Shosoin in Nara, which were made about 1250 years ago.

The length of them is around 40 cm (15 inch)

Those look kind of Japanese swords, don’t you think so?
